Introduction

Paraphrase the trend of marrying/having children later. State that while there are benefits, the negatives are believed to outweigh them.

In recent times, there has been a significant shift in societal norms, with many individuals opting to marry and start families in their thirties, as opposed to their younger years. While this trend has its merits, the drawbacks, in my view, are more substantial.

Body 1 · View 1

Topic sentence: Discuss advantages of marrying/having children later. Point 1: Financial stability due to established careers. Point 2: Emotional maturity and readiness for parenting (wisdom, patience).

On the positive side, choosing to marry and have children later in life often correlates with financial stability. This is largely due to the fact that individuals in their thirties have had more time to establish their careers, thereby ensuring a secure environment for raising a family. Furthermore, maturity and emotional readiness, which are typically more developed in older individuals, can lead to a more harmonious family life. This is because older parents are more likely to have gained the wisdom and patience necessary for effective parenting, thus fostering a nurturing home environment.

Body 2 · View 2

Topic sentence: Discuss significant downsides/negatives. Point 1: Health risks linked to late parenthood (pregnancy/childbirth complications). Point 2: Physical challenges of raising young children (energy needed).

However, the negative implications of this trend are rather pronounced. One of the main concerns is the potential health risks associated with late parenthood. As women age, the risk of complications during pregnancy and childbirth increases, which can pose significant threats to both the mother and child. Additionally, older parents may struggle with the physical demands of raising young children. The energy and vitality required to keep up with the active lifestyle of children can be overwhelming for parents in their late thirties or older, potentially leading to a less engaging upbringing for the child.

Conclusion

Summarize the main points discussed (mentioning benefits briefly but focusing on negatives). Restate the opinion that the trend is more harmful than beneficial.

In conclusion, while late marriages and parenthood may offer financial stability and emotional readiness, the health risks associated with late pregnancy and the physical demands of raising children at an older age make this trend more disadvantageous.

Next question: Some people think that the main factors influencing a child's development these days are things such as television, friends, and music. Others believe that the family still remains more important. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
