How our answers are made

AI helps us draft. Every answer then goes through checks, and a label on the page tells you whether Hardev Singh has read it. This page says exactly who does what.

Who we are

IELTS Hub is an independent IELTS preparation site run by Hardev Singh. He has taught IELTS since 2012 and teaches live classes online from Jalandhar, Punjab, to students around the world. More about Hardev Singh.

We are not part of the IELTS test and are not endorsed by the organisations that run it. Our terms say more.

How model answers are made

This covers the sample essays, letters, graph reports and speaking answers. AI helps us draft them. A draft is published only when it passes four checks:

  • Natural style. It reads like something a capable writer or speaker would produce, not like a template.
  • Band features. It shows what the IELTS band descriptors reward at the band we claim for it.
  • Unique text. It is its own answer. It does not reuse the stock phrases and sentence patterns of other answers on the site.
  • Accurate data. Every figure, trend and comparison in a report matches the chart, table or map it describes.

If an answer reads oddly or gets a fact wrong, tell us.

What the labels mean

A model answer page carries one of three labels. It tells you how far the answer has been checked by a person.

How essay marking works

This covers the essays, reports and letters you send us for marking, including your free first essay.

  1. You submit your essay, report or letter.
  2. An AI draft report is generated: a band for each of the four criteria, with written feedback.
  3. Hardev Singh reviews the draft, changes whatever needs changing and approves it. No report reaches you before he has approved it.
  4. The approved report arrives in your dashboard and by email.

The band in your report is the one Hardev Singh approved, not the raw AI draft. We aim to send reports within 12 hours of your submission. Get an essay marked.

How explanations are written

Every question in our Reading and Listening tests has its own explanation. Each one shows the evidence sentence: the line in the passage, or in the audioscript for Listening, that decides the answer. It then explains how that line leads to the answer.

Scores here are estimates

Bands from our marking, practice tests and tools are estimates to help you prepare. They are not official IELTS results, and we cannot promise any score in the real test. The real test is marked by IELTS examiners, so your official band can differ from ours. See our Terms of Service.
