The table illustrates the global market proportion held by various mobile phone manufacturers in 2005 and 2006.
A cursory glance at the data reveals that Nokia was the dominant player in both years, while Motorola and Samsung saw an increase in their market shares. Conversely, the other two manufacturers experienced a decline in their respective shares.
In 2005, Nokia commanded a considerable 33% of the market, which rose marginally to 34% the following year. Motorola, starting from a 17% share in 2005, witnessed a significant surge to 21% in 2006. Samsung also saw a rise, albeit a modest one, from 12.7% to 13%.
On the other hand, the market shares of both Sony Ericsson and LG dipped over the period. Sony Ericsson's share fell from 7.4% to 6.9%, and LG's share decreased slightly from 6.7% to 6.3%. This suggests that these manufacturers were unable to keep pace with the growth of their competitors.
