The bar graphs illustrate the comparison between the number of cosmetic surgeries undertaken by both genders in Korea during the year 2004.
At a glance, it is evident that women underwent a significantly higher number of cosmetic procedures than men, and that the most popular surgeries amongst both genders were eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty. However, the popularity of the procedures varied between the genders.
In detail, more than 120,000 women opted for eyelid surgery, making it the most popular procedure, followed by rhinoplasty with approximately 80,000 procedures. Other surgeries such as breast augmentation and liposuction were also quite popular, with around 30,000 and 40,000 procedures respectively. However, the number of women who underwent hair transplantation was negligible.
In contrast, men showed a different preference in cosmetic procedures. Around 50,000 men underwent eyelid surgery, while rhinoplasty and hair transplantation were equally popular with about 30,000 procedures each. Other surgeries like liposuction and breast reduction were less popular among men, with less than 10,000 procedures each.
