The table provides information about the percentage of monthly family earnings allocated to four different categories, namely food and drink, housing, clothing and entertainment, across five European nations.
At a glance, it is clear that the highest proportion of income is spent on housing in all countries except for Spain, while the least is spent on clothing. Additionally, there are noticeable variations in spending habits between the countries.
In terms of housing, the UK and France allocate the largest chunk of income, 35% and 28% respectively. Spain, on the other hand, spends the most on food and drink, with a significant 30% of income dedicated to this category, compared to the UK's mere 15%.
In the realm of entertainment and clothing, Germany leads with 20% and 10% of income respectively. Interestingly, Spain, despite its high expenditure on food and drink, allocates the least to entertainment, a mere 7%, and ties with Italy for the lowest spending on clothing at just 5%.
