The bar chart illustrates the proportion of men and women in Great Britain who perform various domestic chores.
At a glance, it is clear that women are more involved in all household tasks except for small repairs, where men take the lead. Furthermore, the most common chores for both genders are cooking and shopping.
Delving into the details, over 80% of women are responsible for cooking, while only about 50% of men share this task. Similarly, approximately 70% of women do the shopping, compared to just over 50% of men. Cleaning is also predominantly done by women, with nearly 85% of them taking on this chore, whereas less than 20% of men participate in it.
In contrast, small repairs appear to be a predominantly male domain, with over 75% of men handling them, while only about 10% of women do the same. Laundry is another task mainly done by women, with nearly 90% of them taking it on, compared to just over 10% of men.
