It is immediately apparent that the majority of people ate at these establishments once a week or more, and there was a noticeable decline in the number of people who never ate at fast food outlets over the decade in question. The least popular frequency was eating at these restaurants more than once a day.
In 2003, over 30% of people ate at fast food restaurants once a week, making it the most common frequency. This figure decreased slightly to just under 30% in 2013. Conversely, the percentage of people who never ate at these establishments decreased significantly from just over 20% in 2003 to just under 10% in 2013.
In both years, the least common frequency was eating at fast food outlets more than once a day, with the figure remaining relatively stable at around 5%. The percentage of people who ate at these restaurants once a month increased slightly from just under 20% in 2003 to just over 20% in 2013.
