The chart provides information about the proportion of young men and women who used the internet in Canada in the year 2000.
In general, it can be seen that internet usage was more common among males than females, and the percentage of users increased significantly in the second half of the year. The data also reveals some distinct trends in internet usage among the two genders over the course of the year.
In January, the percentage of males using the internet was slightly higher than that of females, at approximately 60% and 55% respectively. However, by June, the gap had widened with male internet usage increasing to around 75%, while female usage remained relatively stable at just over 60%.
From July to December, there was a dramatic increase in internet usage for both genders. The percentage of male users surged to nearly 90%, while female usage also saw a substantial rise, reaching approximately 80% by the end of the year. Despite the increase, the gap between male and female users remained consistent throughout the year.
