The bar chart illustrates the rice production levels of the leading ten countries globally in the year 2015.
At a glance, it is evident that Asia dominated the production of rice with China and India being the highest producers. However, there were significant differences in the production volumes among these top ten countries.
Delving into the details, China was the largest producer of rice with an output of over 200 million tonnes. India was a close second, producing just under 160 million tonnes. These two countries alone accounted for a significant portion of the world's rice production. The third largest producer was Indonesia, but its production was significantly less, at around 70 million tonnes.
The remaining seven countries each produced less than 50 million tonnes of rice. Among them, Bangladesh and Vietnam had similar production levels of approximately 35 million tonnes. The least amount of rice was produced by Brazil, which still managed to produce around 15 million tonnes. Despite these lower figures, these countries still made substantial contributions to global rice production.
