The chart provides information about the revenue generated by Morocco from various economic sectors in 2003, and also illustrates the income from the fishing sector over a period of 21 years, from 1982 to 2003.
The most noticeable point is that the majority of Morocco's income in 2003 came from services, while fishing contributed the least. Furthermore, the income from fishing experienced fluctuations over the 21-year period.
In 2003, the services sector brought in just over half of Morocco's income, while the manufacturing and agriculture sectors contributed approximately a quarter each. In stark contrast, the fishing sector generated a mere 2% of the total income.
With regards to the income from fishing, it was relatively stable at around $200 million per year from 1982 to 1987. However, it then saw a sharp increase, peaking at $600 million in 1991, before falling back to the $200 million mark in 1997. After 1997, the income from fishing gradually increased again, reaching $400 million in 2003.
